A sample argument is a redacted excerpt from a brief our attorneys actually filed with the VA or the Board of Veterans' Appeals — the issue, the regulation or case law it turns on, and the reasoning used to win an earlier effective date, a higher rating, or a reversal of a denial. Most veterans never see what a winning argument looks like, so we publish these from our own files with every identifying detail removed, organized by issue: CUE, effective dates, TDIU, secondary service connection, and increased ratings for PTSD, TBI, and other conditions. The reasoning is transferable; the outcome is not — every claim turns on its own record. These are examples, not legal advice.
