Affidavits of symptoms should be used by a veteran to support their claim for rating increase. If you are filing a claim for rating increase, document all the symptoms of the service connected disability in a statement or affidavit. If you are not working, explain in detail why the symptoms prevent employment and justify an award of unemployability. Family members and friends should write statements explaining their observations of the veteran and explain how the veterans suffers with them on a daily basis.
The time period over which the symptoms have existed should be explained, I.e., whether the symptom is new or began years ago.
