TDIU benefits are available to veterans who have service-connected disabilities which prevent them from maintaining substantially gainful employment. Veterans who qualify for TDIU receive a 100% disability rating, even if their individual disabilities have been rated lower. Right now, a 100% disability rating pays a minimum of $2915.55 a month. To win TDIU for Levi, Kendall had to prove that Levi’s PTSD alone is sufficiently severe to prevent him from maintaining substantially gainful employment.
By urging the Board to consider Levi’s record of inpatient care, suicidal ideation, and chemical dependency, among other things, Kendall won the case and Levi finally received the benefits he deserves.
