The VA has released an update to its eBenefits web service. The login process has been improved.  Now healthcare records, benefits records and VA for Vets may all be accessed through the eBenefits service.  Access the web page at www.ebenefits.va.gov.  Veterans may use the web page to apply for benefits, download there DD214 and check the status of a their claims.  Other material may also be downloaded from eBenefits, including service verification, benefits verification letters, military records, VA home loan certificates of eligibility, and GI Bill Enrollment status.  Also very useful is VA payment history.  For eligible veterans, Department of Defense TRICARE health insurance status is also provided.

All veterans should sign up for eBenefits.  It streamlines many of the processes that now have to be dealt with in-person and over the phone.  Moreover, if you have a claim, it at least gives you the piece of mind that the VA has received the evidence and correspondence you have sent in.
