The US Army is shrinking to under 500,000.  This means that thousand of military personnel will be leaving before 20 years of service and without retirement.  Many veterans are young and will be looking for employment and new careers.  This cut back includes officers, especially captains.  During the height of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan around the mid-part of the last decade, men and women were recruited into the military which led to a great increase of military personnel.  Many of these military people have multiple deployments but not lots of years in service.  When these people get out, the need for medical and financial services will shift from the military to the VA.

Cutback to the military have happened before, but it’s frustrating, especially when it impacts young people. Veterans employment will become a critical need of society as those getting out search for jobs.
