Senate Veterans Affairs Committee is considering new legislation that
- Eliminates the one percent cut in COLA allowance for military retiree's under age 62,
- Provides access to alternative care, such as chiropractic, acupuncture.
- Requires VA to eliminate the backlog of claims by 2015, including require VA to specifically state how many claims it must decide a month in order to to this. VA would also have to address the appeal backlog.
- Reinstate the VOW to Hire Heroes Act of 2011, including new programs for Veteran re-training.
