Military sexual trauma
Those who experience sexual assault often feel helpless and powerless. Victims can experience a loss of control and a lack of trust for a long time. Victims can and do recover from the emotional effects of sexual trauma and regain hope for the future. While most victims of sexual assault are women, men also are sexual assault victims, too. In the military, victims of sexual assault experience similar reactions but also some unique challenges.
